I have a nerdy friend and not the most attractive guy who never had much luck getting attention from girls. He is now in medical school and whenever we are out together talking to girls he drops the... Read More

sucks, are girls that shallow? In college I was a broke college student and when I got with girls I can be sure that she likes me for me since I didn't have much to offer except my personality.
Shallow or not, it would be an attention grabber. You gotta initiate a girl's interests somehow.

In 1983, my shift at work had a man who had a distinctive behind. We called him "Pooh Butt" behind his back, although I suspect he would have been ok with saying it to his face. He had an amiable personality.

I read somewhere that women are attracted to a man's behind before other attributes. Butt enhancement for men: should be a lucrative endeavor. If you weren't born with a Pooh Butt, buy one.
My husband works for a surgical manufacturer. He nicknamed an account "Dr. See More Butts" as the MD specialized in augmentation of THAT specific area. I didn't know it was a made up nickname until I realized that "Dr. Seymour Butts" (as I thought he was saying) had a completely different name for his butt practice.

Back when there were 8 hours shifts I would meet up with my husband for dinner and some drinks at the beach when I didn't have to work the next day (the hospital was practically right on the beach). Of course some A-hole at the bar would grab his phone and say, with slurred speech, "Ya wearin' yer nurse's outfit?!"...um, I'm changing in the bathroom. Sorry to disappoint you, hon (insert eye roll).

No. Did not have time for dating during nursing school. Life was nursing school. Time off was nursing school and work. I would say working as a nurse improved my dating life.

My first try at college, my friends and I all noticed how many great girls you would see hanging out with appalling guys. My friends all said, "Oh, the injustice!" I said, "Well, hell, I'm as big a loser as any of those fools." Had a blast, flunked out in 3 semesters. My dumbass buddies graduated.

Are girls that shallow? Well, if they're still girls they are more likely to be. If your friend "drops the MD bomb" and experiences a surge in interest, chances are that he is appealing to a shallow crowd. It's about the same as flashing a wad of cash.

He needs to work on being the best whole person he can be. Don't flash anything and you won't have to be weeding out so many shallow ones.
