Safety issues are anything that could harm the patient. They could be physical or emotional. Examples are falls, injury from procedures, abuse. We have an obligation to protect patients from physiological and psychological danger.

    Dear Daytonite,

I am struggling with knowing what is meant on a test when asked "safety issues with patient." I am assuming it means things patient is at risk for. For example if pt. had surgery a safety issue would be risk for infection??? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
