    Hi Commuter

I noticed on one of the threads that you've decided to go back to school for your RN. Congratulations! You'll be an awesome RN!

I am a recent grad from an LVN program in Cali and I really want to go back for my RN. The issue is that I want to go to a private "trade" school but I'm afraid that I'll be ruining my nursing career by doing this.

I wanted your opinion... do you think going to a trade school really affects what employers think of us? Do you think its only a good idea for those who are likely to get hired with their LVN employer... Or do they most likely just look at "RN"... I used to think that an RN is an RN no matter what but now i'm second guessing myself...

    Hello, Commuter,

Does ***** have the '5 year-old rule', meaning that if your sciences are over 5 years old,

    you have to re-take them?

I'm running out of options and like you, I am going to go ahead and enroll.

    Thanks,

    Alicia

Hi there! I noticed that you attended Casa Loma College a few years ago. I was reading a thread in which you said that you cannot transfer the credits that you earn at Casa Loma because it's a private school. How do you go about getting into a bridge program? Do you have to end up taking the prereqs again?

I saw where you PMed someone about hospitals in Fort Worth. So far I am leaning towards Harris Methodist FW or Baylor. I have worked in a CVICU for a year and plan on continuing in that area. I hope to begin training on hearts, balloon pumps, CRRT, etc. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

I lived in Lawton for a time. I enjoy your posts and think of my cyber buddies much in the same way, except I never told them until recently.
