Hey ebombs,
Sorry it took me so long to answer. I didn't notice I got a message. I would say the best part about it was experiencing different cultures. We got to work closely with the native american community. I was in the traditional program and we had to travel A LOT. The accelerated program students have to travel even MORE. Showlow, Yuma, Tucson, etc. any place you can think of. Some students found out they had to move to Yuma from Flagstaff just a few days before starting. Some had families, apartment contracts they couldn't cancel, no place to stay in Yuma. Basically, expect ANYTHING to happen. The professors are very cut throat, if you can't handle their clinical assignment changes, then drop out. If you aren't a person that gets along with everyone, very easy going, nice, helpful, adaptive, I would advise against coming to NAU.
Let me know what you decide. I wish you all the luck!
hey vikichck-I'm applying to nau's accelerated BSN program and was looking for peer reviews. I saw your opinions and am hoping you wouldn't mind sharing some of your insight/knowledge with me. A good friend of mine went to school in Wyoming for nursing. It sounds like the two of you had very similar negative experiences. What was good and bad about NAU? Do you know anything about their accelerated BSN program?
