Hi, my name is Angela, from Swansea Wales, currently living in Washington State (newly married just wondered if you knew how many hours theoretical and practical are required in all areas by the cgfns - like you I am a welsh nurse, 20 plus years expereinced old SEN then converted to RN, also been a midwife and children's nurse (diplomas in each) and a nursing degree. I am terrified that they will say I haven't enough hours in all areas. Did you find any difficulties in transfering your surgical hours and medical hours into the pre-defined areas - I did 15 weeks gynae but it is written in my transcripts as surgical nursing - do I need to help the university to pinpoint all my hours. Sorry for so many questions! angela

Hey there, have been researching a possible move to USA and have noticed numerous posts from yourself..i am a fellow Welshy and also trained for my degree at Cardiff university (then UWCM), I am currently working on an acute medical ward I must admit LOVE medicine. Have been reading VERY mixed messages about working and living in the USA and am left more and more inconclusive each day! Attending an International Nursing fair next weekend which I hope may set the path with little more light but they are selling a service so will probably gloss over most things, lol! Thanks for all your threads, they have been a constant useful source of info.

I understand retrogression, and fear deeply for RP when the flood of returning workers turns into a tsunami.

Most here do not understand what retrogression is, you might want to explain the term. Also I have no idea what USCIS is or where there website is... it is not .com or .org, where is it, i'd like to see.

    But I do agree...

    Thanks
