Hey girl, I took advanced patho last semester. It is just basically more indepth patho. Really fun stuff, I kid you not, i loved that class. I am not going back this fall. I had some pretty extensive plastic surgery and I am tired. I am looking forward to going back to work this fall. I will probably go the following year, but maybe to a different program that I can finish in a year instead of 3 years. I don't know I will just see how I feel. Don't worry about that course, if you like patho at all it is a self motivating course. We had 3 case studies to do besides the regular course work and they were so helpful with my day to day work.

Hope all is going well with you. Good to hear from you.

Well I am working part-time right now, but my other classmates are working full-time. It gets a little harder as you go along and it requires more of your time. Yes, there are 2 people in my class that are over the age of 50. There is nothing wrong with going back to school at any age. It will be very rewarding to know that you finished your NP and are working autonomously without all the hassle of being on the floor. I would say go for it!

Hi peaceful, I am applying to be full-time and plan to work on a PRN status. I'm not the most confident person and nervous about all of this, but NP is something I feel I MUST do, so I will. I was much more on the fence when it was something that I wanted, versus needed.

Peaceful. I say GO FOR IT! Grad school is not as difficult as undergrad, in my opinion, and you'll be studying something you love! Go for it. We're never too old. :-)

I actually am no longer working as an NP (other than international volunteering when I can) My husband retired and after a few years my working just got in the way of things we wanted to do - travel and stay for long periods of time when we do - so I quit my job 3 years ago and never looked back. I am keeping my license current (just in case) and keep busy writing. I've had one book published and am working on a couple more. They've got very strict rules on this website about talking about that sort of thing though, so, if you're really interested just try goggleing.....
