hello there - i applaud that you are getting a DNP but from reading your post, you really need to take a step back and realize that a physician and surgeon (which all MD/DO) has more training and more knowledge than any nurse. A nurse has experience, but the rigorous training that they go through is by no means equivalent to a MSN or DNP for that matter - nursing graduate programs have heavy emphasis on research and case studies - the 2000 or so clinical hours (most programs actually much less) for NP licensure are about 20 weeks of training for a resident. 20 weeks of 3-7 year residencies + fellowships. you may be able to diagnose bilateralotitits media, but I have had horrible experiences with NPs misdiagnosing me. As a nurse and an educated individual, I will ONLY see a physician for my healthcare needs, never a midlevel practitioner
