I work in the critical care float pool at KU, and can tell you right there are absolutely no openings in any of the ICU's here. I wanted to transfer to an ICU and go 'full time'. They just hired there new grads and in March-April, there were 214 applications for 14 open ICU positions. I believe this is due to so many new grads wanting to go to NA school. I can't speak on behalf of other hospitals, but I do work agency as well in the KC area. If you would like to know any more info, just let me know your questions.
