- I have heard that MGH is very, very good. I chose Simmons because I wanted the BSN at the time. Now I have a BA so I don't care so much about the BSN, esp. since I am planning an RN to Masters bridge.
If you get a chance to CNA at Mt. Auburn, do it! Very good place. It was about ten years ago, anyway. Stuff up there doesn't change that quickly, so it is probably fine. You can get a CNA job with one semester of nursing school. Keep in touch. - I worked at Mt. Auburn. I went to Simmons College nursing school. It was a long time ago (13 years). I quit midway because I had marital problems and during a "make-up" reconciliation-- conceived my son. I already had two young kids, so I needed to stop.
I did not include this information when I applied for schools, because it was a tough time in my life and I am not looking to use the credits.
Simmons was expensive, but good. I think faculty was professional, and students at that time were earnest and good.
What schools are you looking at? - Honeymist,
It's Dawn from "book theft" thread. Where did u go to school here?
I took prereqs in Boston.
We seem to have several cultural differences trying to blend down here. This seems to cause problems.
I am 42 w/ kids and a husband and I don't plan on doing anything more than kicking nursing school's butt getting the best grades I can because I will need those grades for grad school. I will probably work the minimum amount of prerequisite time before applying to my RN -NP bridge, since I already have a BA in another field. Reality might get in the way of my plans.
I started my last pre-req last night. I could barely understand the instructor -- her foreign accent was terrible. So, it's a blending of cultures, I guess. Do you see things the same way or am I off track?
