I just passed boards for RN. I'm kinda scared about my new role as a RN. where I work the RN gets 4-6 patients and is responsible to cover the LPN's 5-6 patients, assessments and IV meds and any critical situation. I guess what Im saying is it really doesn't matter to much about nurse pt ratio in depends on circumstanes.
I have graduated from Excelsior college, I did not have a clinical teaching, and now need to rely on my co-workers to teach me the RN skills. I have had great experience as a LPN that many new grads will take years to learn so for that I am greatful.
Does anyone out there work in a setting like this would like to hear from you. my work place is Select Specialty Hospital, which is a nation wide corporation, I would also like to hear for some other nurses that work for Select and compare notes.
