I know it might seem like a lame question you have been asked a million times but it always makes me feel good to say it. For me it was my wife, I saw the personal fullfilment she came home with everyday even on the days she was stressed. It made such a impact on me I went and got my STNA then my LPN and am currently working on my RN. The love and support she has given me makes me want to be that much better of a nurse.
The reason I posted this is because I recently talked to a RN whom had been a nurse for quite some time and I asked her the same question and she had forgotten why. Later after some time to contemplate she came back and thanked me for giving her a reason to reflect on why she is became a nurse. She said she had been unhappy for awhile and this reminder was making her review how she used to percieve her job and how she wanted to percieve it again. I hope this is helpful for some or maybe just enjoyed by others. Anyway thanks for letting me spill my thoughts for a moment, now I have to get back to studying, big transitions test on Monday.....NURSING THEORIES..UGH!
