Hey there! Looks like we're going to be classmates! Congrats! I also was offered a spot following my interview at CSULA. I noticed that you also got into Columbia. I also got into Columbia and Yale and so am curious as to how you decided to attend CSULA over Columbia? The cost for me is a huge factor, as well as the geographic location (I currently reside in LA where I have a strong support network of family and friends). Congrats again and can't wait to meet you!

I don't have my decision from CSULA yet but it's a pretty strong feeling that I didn't get in. I did, however, apply to Mt. St. Mary's and Loma Linda as well. AND I changed my personal statement to make it more straightforward and concise as to goals and such. Hopefully that gets me an interview somewhere. I'm so happy for you though! It's great that you have your pick of schools. I just learned from this cycle and hope to be in your shoes soon! Good luck in yours too? (You chose CSULA right?)

Really, what are your other options? I have about 7 yes letters. I think Western is my top at this time.

I just saw that you were offered admission to CSULA. Congrats! I'm v. happy for you! I wish I were in your shoes but I'll be trying again for next year .

I do wonder how you wrote your personal essay because I think that's where I went wrong. I was too vague on my goals and what lead me to this decision. Was your essay pretty straight forward and clear? Or did you tell a story?

Are you going to go to Western starting fall 2009? I think this is my first choice also. I am still waiting on some local schools but so far this is #1 for me. Let's talk more...my email is

Thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement!! I hope we'll be classmates too! !!!! I think I let how much I wanted to be in the program shine through in the last email I sent her (when I thought all was lost) and the next day she made my day! I am going to prepare as much as possible so that when the day comes, I can let the best of me shine through and hopefully have a chance. I wouldn't hesitate to say YES!!! on the spot. I would be trying harder to contain my excitement to not freak her out hahaha. Thank you for reassuring me about it. I keep telling myself that I just have to speak from my heart and hope for the best.

You've probably already send in your transcripts, but I thought I'd mention this to you: the Admissions Office advised me to put my CIN on my transcripts so that they would be sure to get attached to your application. Good luck on your interview!

Sorry for bothering you again about the CSULA interivew. I am just trying to stay positive. I am curious what is the first letter of your last and first name. I am thinking maybe.. just maybe Kathy Hinoki are calling applicants in alphabetical order.... ahh. this is driving me nuts!
