Yeah they have micro with nursing classes...they did before I started...but I was told that I could take it in the summer semester...that wasn't the case. So now I'm stuck in it with my 2 NS classes and it's just a nightmare!
That's not ALWAYS true. That is a requirement that you have a 3.0 in those specific classes, but your cummulative GPA DOES count also. You have to have at least 2.7 I think, but a 3.0 in those other classes. Also, have you or will you have taken Micro by the time you apply? If you haven't, take it before you apply. A few of us are in a really bad situation because we were TOLD by our Allied Health advisors that we could take it over the summer, but that is NOT the case. We have to take it along with Med Surg and OB and it's AWFUL!! We are all doing horribly, and Mrs. Lifsey won't let us drop it. She said we'll just a. have to pass it or b. fail it and REtake it over the summer. That really worries me because I don't want to fail a class, but I'll have to if my nursing classes start to suffer. I refuse to fail a nursing class because of micro.
You'll get in! Keep those grades up! That's the MOST important...and make sure to study and make good grades on the NET test...the points really don't count as much as the GPA and NET. I know plenty of girls that were disappointed because they thought that they could get in on points alone. If you ever need anything let me know! I'll be in my 3rd semester this fall so if you need any advice let me know!
I'm not 100% sure what everyone in my class had as far as points go. I DO know that I only had about 17 points but my GPA was almost a 4.0 so that overrode the points. Are you attending ATC now or just applying to the program?? A fair warning...it's SO hard...=0)..but SO fun!
