hi dmskoka! i've been reading the posts on the U of A thread and I found out today that I have been placed on the alternate list for their Traditional Program. By any chance was the office of student affairs willing to let you know how many people are on their waitlists?? I sure hope it's only a couple!

i did, it will be at the bottom of my list... they are having some financial issues as well in addition to others. as far as the quality of employment is concerned, from what i've read here on these forums, i've heard that the specialty floors are GREAT, but the floor is to be avoided at all costs. but i have talked to some people who LOVE their job at TMC. it's all a matter of perspective and an individual's personal experience.
if you did sign on with them and were freed from the three year contract, i don't think you'd have a hard time finding employment- especially in tucson, some more rural areas, and much of california. there will always be jobs for new grads, i think it's just a pain to find them!

thanks !! I think those are some of the apartments I checked on line. I will doublecheck. They looked nice.. I saw a scholarship and Carla from the school said its a 50 /50 shot... I just checked nebraska methodist? and they have a new nurse grad program with tuition assistance. I know here in California I can't get any grants because of my former degree. The loans are based on my salary.. I can get some federal but most have to come from private loans.. I haven't checked out of state.. That is a good point.. I don't think in any of these accelerated programs anyone can study.. I have read of 2 people that worked almost full time in the hundreds of schools that I have read and they had jobs were the hours were crazy and they could study on the job.. Congrats and thanks.. I am still checking out schools.. Still Creighton has such a good reputation. I will do some more research on the financial side...

We looked at Apts in Western Omaha... The streets there are numbered, from what I got out of it was right downtown starts with 10th street, and the further west you go the higher the numbers. We looked at apts from 90th- 150th. The furthest being about a 20 minute drive to Creighton. The apartments we looked at were mostly all the Broadmore Properties if you google that. The "tradition" by broadmore is very nice in a gated community. Also, "Harrison Hills" and "willow Creek". My boyfriend took a job out in omaha, and that is why we originally decided to go there. He will be starting his job also in August. He is doing 18-24 months of training with the company before we will be transfering. So i guess it will work out long enough for me to graduate and have a job for a short time. When I went to Creighton it was the day we were flying out so basically I just got to walk around, and didnt have time to talk with anyone. Do you have any information on loans? I thought I remember hearing something that is you have a bachelors already and are trying for another it is sort of difficult to get a loan, and with Creighton being 40,000 I was just curious as to what route others are looking at?!?!...Also do you know if you are allowed to work while in the program? Some programs do not allow you to.
