- Mar 22, 2009 06:45 PM - permalinkperuanachicaCongratulations to you too! I still have moments where I'll just blurt out, "I STILL can't believe I got in!" I can't wait for classes to start!
As for the application, I had a friend help me out with it, since she's been through the whole process on her own. She got into an entry-level MSN program and is a nurse practitioner now after a two year program! I also sat down with Adele Kelch about my application (before she left) and she told me how to spruce it up, so that helped as well! I'm just really horrible about selling myself! That was actually the most difficult part of the interview process for me. I stumbled while answering, "What words would you use to describe yourself and what will you bring to the College community."
Nice to "meet" you and I look forward to meeting you soon in real life! - Mar 21, 2009 09:23 PM - permalinkperuanachicaYeah I did get in. I sent in my acceptance and it's all official now. Just waiting for the actual contract. How about you?
- Hey, still trying to figure out how this website works, guess I cant send personal messages so not even sure you'll get this. Thanks for saying 'hi'. I dont think it was me that you talked with. I am jealous that you are in Hawaii though I must say. You had quite the trip to get to Tucson as well. I have been passing the waiting time by investigating other options, hope Im not jinxing myself I just didn't want to get my hopes up to get let down. Not feeling so great about the interview, not my strong point. I guess we will know soon. I have been losing a bit of sleep over the ordeal, I admit.
Good luck to you! - I got into Mount St. Marys.. It is a private catholic school. They have a big beautiful campus up in Brentwood (L.A.) and then a smaller campus right near downtown. This is where they do the ASBN. No you can be from anywhere. It is a nice school.I have joined a group with about 10 people from there already. The problem is the cost and living in Los Angeles. I did all the math.. Taking into account rent/mortage. pay and cost of the school. Samuel Merritt near me works out the best but there are no jobs here at all. Just read that in a local hospital where my exmotherinlaw worked for 40 plus years had 800 applications for 15 new grad jobs.. So that school is out.. Arizona then works out the best as long as I can get a job. I will just think postively.. I hope that I like Tucson. I am a little concerned about it being such a big school.. vs a smaller one... but as long as the student to teacher ratio is ok and they are supportive I can't see that it wouldn't work out.. This just not knowing.. am I going to Los Angeles.. am i going to Tucson or even Nebraska and it isn't that far away and trying to do all the classes that I am doing.. I just have collapsed by now .. thanks for all your great info... I read about the interview- Interviews usually don't bother me but this one has me a little anxious.. Being questioned by a panel rather takes the human side out of it...
- Did you just see the posts about Tucson Medical Center. This is scary.. At least the students got their education paid for but no jobs afterwards!!! yikes.. I am so scared that The school I got accepted into in Los Angeles may pull their scholarships..
