It sounds like you'll do good; esp the way you defended youself here.
Get use to it, because theses nurses 'eat their young.' You'll have
to be very assertive, esp at the beginning. I don't see that you'll
be having a problem with that. Good luck.

Well, thank you very much for the insight. As a pt, family member, nursing student, and visitor, I have seen several nurses act completely inappropriately. It's really appalling and from talking to others nurses as a group are losing their credibility and really quick. I have worked with the public in the medical field and have seen first hand how rude and demanding they can be....but they simply don't know any better and esp when someone is in the hospital it's imperative for their caretakers to be on their best behavior for the betterment of all involved. I have to wonder if a lot of these nurses get treated this way because they act this way to people and people just simply aren't going to take it.....and I'm talking about regular, everyday, nice, non confrontational, run of the mill pt.s and families....for some reason these women kept jumping to worst case scenarios. It makes me sad for nursing. My nursing instructors warned me of people like this but I already knew it.

    Hi,
I'm sorry about that thread. You don't seem judgemental to me.
The one that was calling you so judgemental needs to be the one to
look in the mirror. Look on page 7 at the top and you will see what
I mean. I'm glad the thread was closed.

I'm telling you, you will see this so much when you get into nursing.
I see nurses rolling their eye at patients walking down the hall just
simply because they don't like them because they're needy or for
some other stupid reason. It's sad.

Just remember this when you get a few years under your belt.
Because it will be very easy to become what we read on your
    thread. Delete after reading.

God Bless. You will make a great nurse!
