I am a new nurse and am employed as a M/S nurse working nights.
    Every shift
seems to be utter chaos and that either they destaffed our aides or nurses called out sick. I feel like there is never a reprieve. Recently, I called out. I didn't feel well. When I called in at 9am I was
asked to take two tylenol and come in because one nurse already called out. I was so angry.
I told them that in 7 months I have never been out. I have worked with tooth aches, root canals, sinus infections and have never called out. I put my foot down and said I would not be in.
There are nurses that call out b/c they don't like their assignments, or don't feel like
coming in, or b/c they don't like their schedule. There are nurses that switch the assignment
board around b/c they don't want certain patients or give report to certain nurses. Half the time I am doing the the CNA's work.
    I feel like quitting.
