    hey!!!
i arrived at makati med at 5;30am.haha!i was trying to avoid traffic,so i left home early.i stayed at mcdo near the hospital til about 6:30am.then when i arrived at the training office, there were already several of my co- interviewees waiting.we were asked to fill-up an apllication form and was told to wait.after that, the interview started, 2 batches (7 each).i was among the first batch.
in general, i think the interview went well.they asked us about our personal/educ'l background, areas of interest, goals, future plans, etc. the interviewers consisted of 3 nursing managers. they were actually very nice and not intimidating at all. btw, you were right.this was for the staff nurse position.i got so excited when they confirmed it. i feel blessed to be considered for the position. we will know the result on tuesday. then the PE and uniform fitting will follow.
the advices you gave were very useful. thanks a lot again! i really hope we could be colleagues soon at MMC!

hi again diapersprinkles! I'm glad you replied.

Last week, I went to several hospitals in QC, Pasig, Metro Manila, and Mandaluyong to pass my applications to staff nurse and nurse trainee/ volunteer positions. Some rejected it (still due to freeze hiring, lack of prc/ivt card), but some actually acccepted it...Now i'm waiting for them to contact me. I hope it will be sooner than expected. Wish me luck!

Going to the different hospitals is exhausting and costs a lot of money. These, coupled with the fact that I'm new here in Manila makes it even harder. But nonetheless, I'm still willing to continue the effort. By the way, I live here in Mandaluyong.

With regards to my prc license card, unfortunately, i'm not the only one. I registered in prc baguio and their system sucks! Up to now, they have only released the cards of RNs with A-B family names. The rest is yet to printed according to prc manila. I can't believe that a piece of plastic is holding me back from my set goals! It's really pathetic!

With regards to St Lukes, uhmm...I actually applied there last year, around september. Unfortunately, I didnt pass the screening. I guess the fact that it was my first time ever to apply played a big role. I was really nervous during the entire process. It really affected my focus. Although, of course, i'm not using that as an excuse. Maybe, it was just not meant for me.

By the way, I really liked your idea about going to call centers just to gain interview experience. I think I would try that soon. It could help me with my confidence and reduce my anxiety during interviews. Thanks a for the tip!

Uhmm, i hope you dont mind. Can you please share with me some of the common questions during technical/clinical interviews you have encountered? how about the exams? some tips on where they focus on. I'd just like to get a general idea.
Thanks a lot! Hope to hear from you again soon!

Hi diapersprinkles! I've read a couple of your posts & to be honest, I'm really jealous of what you've already accomplished. I'm also a june 08 nle passer and sadly up to now, i'm still struggling to find work or find a hospital where I can volunteer. It seems that everywhere I go it's either "application closed til further notice" or "freeze hiring". Lung Center even said that their 3 mos. training program prior to employment is full until 2010. How sick is that?

Another thing that's preventing me from applying for full time nursing positions is my prc license, which up to now is still "on process" at the prc main office. I cannot file for my IVT license without it. I really don't know what to do anymore.

I'm sorry I bothered you. I just really wanted to share my frustrations. I hope you could share some of your strategies on how you seemed to gain edge over the thousands who are trying to get the opportunities you are getting.

Thank you! I really hope to hear from you soon.
