I am an international student from the United Kingdom studying nursing at a local community college in the United States. I have now started the 2nd semester of the RN program and I hope to be graduated in May 2010. I know when after I graduate, I can work in the USA for 1 year on optional practical training to get some experience, but after that I might not be able to get a visa to work permanently here in the USA as there are so many foreign trained nurses wanting to move here. I was wondering what countries would accept an RN educated at an associates degree level. I have heard that Canada now requires all RN's to have a BSN, but I am not sure if they ever make exceptions. I also discovered that it might be hard for me to practice nursing in my home country, the UK, as they have a different system of nursing there. I really need to work as a RN after I graduate as I can't afford to go for my BSN after I graduate. Any advice would be great. Also, is it possible for a ADN trained RN to be able to work in the middle east.
