That's funny, yes, San Diego is pretty quiet/boring compared to the East Coast, I'd say. I lived in Manhattan for 8 months and got a little cramped in the 7-by-7 foot windowless room I rented, but the city was always exciting! :-P Would have been better with more money, ha ha... And I kind of miss the culture in Portland, OR, where I lived during college, but not the rain and mud... I live in Little Italy and have learned to head to Hillcrest, North Park, or South Park (all on the other side of Balboa Park from downtown) for fun when I'm not up for the Gaslamp club thing. I have family in Redlands and with them we like to go wine tasting in Temecula. Good for you for sticking with the East Coast! I think you have to be a lot tougher there. :-)

I was born is S.D. but spent my adolescence/early adulthood further north in San Marcos and later Temecula (Riverside County, just over the border)....so I must admit, my geography of the city proper is pretty weak. I love visiting as that my entire family is out by you, but I'm one of those weirdos that actually LIKES the east coast. When I fly back home, I get antsy after about four days!I dunno, I guess they make pills for that, huh? It's interesting that your would label S.D. "fun" because, although the weather and people tend to be nicer, I find it kind of boring....but, then again, there's that geography thing. I probably just don't know where to LOOK....
