Hope you don't mind all my questions. There will be a new campus opening up in the Reno area and they've indicated that the pre-reqs for the Vegas program will be the same. Would you happen to know if non -science pre-reqs will transfer if they are more than 5 years old ? I have all the pre-reqs done (except A&P 2). But many of them are older than 5 years old but just below 10 years. What about science pre-reqs ? How old do they need to be ? I would be soo disappointed if i'm asked to take all my pre-req over. If that's the case i won't apply there.
Did you need to take the N.E.T exam to get in ? I can't seem to find a website for getting the study aid.
I've also read about some students entering at the 3rd semester. How does that work ? Are there usually open spots then ? If a student starts at the 3rd semester how many semesters are left before completion ? Are there semesters that run in the summer ?
Did you hold down a job while you were in the program ? I still need to work at least 24 hrs at my job (just enough to keep my benefits for my family), i wonder if the program will be too intense for me to be able to do that.
hey gabby, im sooo sorry im just now loggin in for the first time. I know some people in my vegas course who were unable to transfer ANY of their pre-reqs. But now they are alloing it, as far as the time frame, im not sure, but if i remember correctly most school dont allow anything older than 5 years, but again, dont know for sure. The net test...do not buy the flashcards online, they are a waste of money, which they will refund, but more importantly, they are very confusing. Dont worry about the net test, its verrrrry basic testing, i scored a 97 on my first try. There is however a really good book thats about 12 bucks, not sure, but if you google net test book, you should find it. Ill tell you this, its a small and simple paperback book, nothing intense. You do need to take the net test and now the school is interviewing every single applicant to make sure you are serious. Getting into 3rd semester, you may have to wait, bc they book the classes full, and chances are you may be waiting for a long time. So, my advice would be take the least amount of units class you can in semester 1 and 2 and get your easy A and secure your spot. There are 6 semesters total, 4 months each semester with 1 week in between. You really need to go to the orientation bc they go over all of this. Hope this helped! Godd luck! - Jan 03, 2009 01:12 PM - permalinkjeninthedesertGood luck applying to nursing school!
