Hi mcs1505! I was lurking on the forum about the UF ABSN program and finally signed up. Like Marge, I cannot PM yet (Hi Marge444!). I got my acceptance letter on 3/8 and went to visit Gainesville 3/11. I really like the UF program, but need make sure that it's not too strenuous before I move there. (My other option is FSU's traditional BSN.) I have so many questions for you as a current student! Do classes or clinicals occur on weekends? Are there clinicals at night? How much time do you have to study? Do you have any experience with the buses? Can you recommend an apartment complex? How much time do you find you have to decompress/de-stress? Do you have job prospects yet for after graduation? Any answers you can give me will definitely make my decision easier. You are the first current student I've run across. Thank you so much in advance!

Hi again, Ok I finally figured out why I cant private message, apparently you have to have atleast 15 posts before you are allowed. Anyways...Yes UF is the only place I applied, I just got married and moved home to Gainesville, I really do not want to have to move out of town, and I am dead set on an accelerated program. If I don't get in I might consider applying other places, but there was a different test for every school, and I just thought I'd throw all my eggs in this basket the first go around. I am most interested in Peds right now. I have a friend that is a nurse practitioner at shands in the PICU, and I have spent time shaddowing her, and I am now volunteering there. But I am open to other areas also. So how have you liked the program? Do you feel like a nurse yet? I sometimes wonder how they can make a nurse out of me in a year but I guess it is possible. Are you planning on going on to the masters or doctorate program? How does that work exactly? Do you go straight into the program or do you have to work for a certain amount of time first? Thanks for your help, I hope I am not asking too many questions, I am just so ready to get started!

HI There! Yeah it would be great if you could give any info at all. I can only find one other person on here that is applying to the program, and both of us, as you can tell from our posts are trying to get info anywhere we can. I am just really curious about accepted students' GRE and GPA scores. If you dont mind sharing that would be awesome. I think this is a private message, but I don't know I could not find the words "private message" anywhere, but hopefully this is it. I have an 1170 GRE, 3.44 GPA, 4.0 in pre-reqs, a great statement and letters of rec. I guess I would just like to know my chances of being accepted. Originally I felt confident, but lately I have just been hearing so many 1200 and 1300 GRE scores along with 3.8-4.0 GPAs which makes me think I have no chance at all. Any info would be much appreciated!
