I loved vocational rehab, however it was a career that I happened to stumble into. After I graduated there happened to be a job available and I thought I would give it a try. Nope, no master's in voc rehab. I had 2 years experience in vocational services prior to applying for this job and tons of case management experience. I think vocational services is extremely beneficial therapeutically, despite everyone not always ending up with a job. I have seen people change their lives just from the hope that comes from talking about vocational goals. Its a demanding position, sometimes a thankless position but neither had anything to do with my choice. I love direct service and realized that I loved the "bedside" piece way more than any other aspect of the job.

How did you like being a voc. rehab counselor? I had an interest in that as well. Were you req. to have a masters in rehab counseling ? Did you feel you weren't helping people in a big way? Therefore made the switch to
    Nursing?

sorry all of the questions [/quote]
