Driving the ALCAN highway is not bad at all. It is all paved with plenty of gas stations, places to eat, and hotels/motels etc. We basically timed our overnight stops to coincide with the bigger cities along the route. If you have ever driven in rural areas it is about the same. You can make a lot of money doing a partial or full DITY move. You could also do the Alaska Ferry system. Anyway you decide to get here is fine, but for us having two cars etc. driving was the best option.
