- Hi! I would like to ask if you know any company hiring nurses? I had previous experience as a company nurse in Intel phils, and St luke's medical Center. But I quit the job when I got pregnant. It's been severn years since I last work as a nurse. Awaiting for youe reply. Thank you very much.
- Thanks for your answer B. I'm from the States, quite a bit older than you, obviously a guy and work at an extremely progressive ICU. We're EXPECTED to make things happen/better by utilizing skill sets, standing orders and our "open" policy towards implementing casual interventions the result of which are positive patient outcomes. We're an accredited cardiac "Center of Excellence" and several of our physicians are well known throughout the Country and around the World. Our primary Cath Lab physician was the first physician in Louisiana to perform a cardiac catheterization in Louisiana (the State in which I currently reside) and one of the first in the Nation. Our facility in affiliation with his organization teaches special cardiac cath skills to physicians throughout the states and around the world. We oftentimes have satellite trucks parked out in front of the hospital. I (we) get all those cases in our ICU (really). Our cardiac surgeons commonly attempt multi-focal heart interventions like CABG X 3,4,or 5 with valves too. Almost all valves are porcine (don't think that'll go over well in Saudi) but we occasionally work with mechanical as well. We also specialize in TRT (target renal therapy), limb salvage, PTCA, PTCA/Laser, FEM/POP, and speciality interventions like FEM/POP re-routing whereby the artery is literally moved from a medial to lateral orientation. Imagine obtaining an arterial doppler pulse on the outside of the knee! Yep, we do that (scar tissue from previous interventions necessitates this intervention). We’re constantly implementing new therapy modalities both medicinal and surgical. Our facility to catheter table times for definitive MI is around 40 minutes and includes calling everyone in (we don’t house our team). There is much more but I’ll spare you. Click this link for more: http://www.cardio.com/site1.php Generally speaking, we have very good equipment.
Long term acute care is disconcerting. We do it too. I understand. I’m a hopeless optimist but there comes a point in which patients simply languish. That’s usually my point of discomfort. I’ve had them rot in the bed—literally.
I gather you were a contract nurse. Thank You for your commitment to our profession.
I know what to expect to some extent when I arrive and have lived (and relatives have lived) in culturally different areas of the country/world. The problem I’m having is the disparity in monetary compensation. I don’t want to insult them nor do I want to take less than they’re willing to pay for qualified, capable, dedicated help. Generally speaking, I’m all on or all off. There is no “gray” area with me. I’d be disappointed if I moved all to another side of the world only to find a less qualified person making more than me doing the same job.
Your insight is appreciated. Sorry for being long-winded. I’m certain you can help and therefore an explanation is in order. If you’ve contact information for persons currently working in Saudi it would be greatly appreciated if you’d forward this information to them as well. I’m required to make my mind in a short period of time and any insight is appreciated.
ICUGUY - Headed for ICU in Saudi. Have my package in hand. Seems competitive but frankly expected more. Any advice is appreciated. Intend to counter-offer but how much? Would like to privately e-mail with you please.
