bchs is a great school. yeah, there are some qwirky things about it but in general it's great. first of all, you need to schedule to take the HOBET. make sure you get the review guide for sale in the admissions office and attend both the math and reading comprehension review sessions. people think math is the hardest - it's actually the reading. secondly, if you don't have any transfer credits, you'll have to take the ACT. didn't have to take it since i already have a bachelors.

you won't hear anything from them until the end of june. i applied this time last year and waited in agony for 6+ months. i'd recommend submitting a very well written and attention-grabbing admissions essay as to why you want to be a nurse...that's what i did and i got in. would i have gotten in without it? maybe, maybe not. i did it just to be sure.

they make you take some dumb prereq courses (religion, computers, philosophy, BCE which is an intro course to the college itself, literature, etc). however, once you're admitted, you don't have to reapply to the nursing program itself once the prereq courses are done. once you're in the program you're admitted to the nursing clinical program, as well. it's one of a kind - not like other RN programs in the area. if you have a lot of transfer credit and only have a few general ed/prereq courses to take, you may have to sit out a trimester before you can start clinicals (they give you your clinical start date when you are admitted). many people get bumped up for various reasons but it's never guaranteed and they'll be the first to tell you that. once you get in clinicals, it's 5 trimesters from start to finish, nonstop (no breaks).

it's a VERY good school. EXTREMELY high NCLEX pass rates and they truly do care about the students. really, they do. it's evident in the way you are treated. people may beg to differ but i absolutely love it there.

hope this helps. let me know how it goes!!

    best wishes,
