I had taken an excelerated 2 week paramedic course in order to take it. Before NR nurses used to be able to challenge the state board and sit for paramedic license. But as far as I know, now you can't. I know in michigan you can't just challenge you have to have taken an accredited course. You could probably check with your state to see if you can challenge for just a state license, but I think most states have switched to NR, like NCLEX for nursing. A national testing standard.

I saw that you took NREMTP in a recent post. I would like to take but I am not sure if I can because I am a ore hospital nurse and not licensed as a medic.
