I think i read somewhere that you are a NP, what specialty?

I've been researching but a great deal of the posts here are from 2005.

So my understanding is you need: 2 years of experience, and a master, then you can go to NP school. Has the 2015 DNP Agenda been set in stone? Or is it still just the recommendation?

I have a few questions about NPs scope as well. I am most interested in flying as a nurse. Am I thinking too far down the road of education to fly as a NP?

Ideally I would fly full-time and work in an ER or ICU.

So is the best route to get a FNP (for the ability to treat the lifespan of pts) and then a subspecialty in Acute Care? Would that Allow me to work in an ER and an ICU. Should one get multiple specialties? ER and AC? How long does it take to work on a subspecialty once getting your certification as a NP? Many of the posts on AN do not directly answer these questions.
