I saw your posting to RochesterRN-BSN. I currently live in Rochester. I am an LPN almost done with my ADN. Anyhow, LPNs start at about $14.50 new grad in LTC, $15.25 in rehab/subacute/psych. MCH pays just under that, $13.27 for new grad LPNs but there's county benefits to think about too... What I suggest is that you get into a Unity Living Center on Genesee if you decide to come back, and work there a year. You will get experience in sub-acute, IV certification, peritoneal dialysis, maybe even brain trauma injury. Then apply for your Medicaid PDN and go private full time while staying with your facility per diem. Medicaid reimbursement rates have been stabilized and approved through 2011: $22.71 low tech, $25.93 high tech, and 30% increase on medically fragile pediatric cases; i.e. $33.71 an hour. Then you can continue to pursue your education once you are established on a case. Good luck!

I am sorry but I have never worked as a CNA or an LPN so I really don't know how much they make to be honest. Wish I could help. Maybe you might have luck if you call those hospitals. Good luck.
