I just got your message. Moriah was actually taken from the Bible, Mount Moriah, where it is believed that Abraham was going to sacrifice his son Issac. The name meaning is chosen by God, considered by God or teaching place by God. Without knowing any of the meaning of this name I promised God if he would give me a daughter I would name her Moriah, and I did. Also, if I ever have another daughter I would name her Rose, because I like the name and I love the flowers. Btw I got this name form a book I was reading while pregnant with my youngest son. The name of the book is "Jerusalem The City of God" by Traylor.

Hi, I just thought your username was interesting. My sister's name is Moriah spelled with an "o" and she has never met anyone with the same name spelled like that. Funny thing is, my parents named me "Maria" and my middle name is "Rose. So I am Maria Rose and my sister is Moriah!
