yes I did attend and finished the LVN program at WCC. I also recently passed the boards and is currently awaiting a job offer. I would have to say in my experience going there, it was very unorganized due to a new nurse director who was still learning how to organize the program. My class had a lot of trouble learning because we had unstable teachers where some had quit or were fired and some didn't really know what to teach or how to teach. To tell you the truth, most of my class and the class before us did not have a high passing nclex percentage rate, we feel was due to the lack of learning at the school. I recently heard from a friend of mine who is attending there and is in their fourth term that the school now has exit exam tests to make sure that you know your stuff before you can move on to the next term... which I think is good, because in that way, you can feel at least more positive you got got the right education and the knowledge before you sit for the nclex. If they were more strict with us the first time, and making sure we KNOW ALL STUFF, then we all or most would probably have passed the first time. I myself did not pass the first time... second time was my charm! that was 2 months of studying straight with no help from anybody... just determination...

Some of my classmates took as long as 3 months to find a job... I interviewed for a job within the same month after receiving my letter that I passed! just had my second intervew with the doctor and.. it looks good! I also just interviewed for another place, and was just asked to come in for a second interview next week where I get to shadow a nurse around.. so I guess I've been pretty lucky and blessed to even have two jobs that want me.. lol... yes the job hunting is strenuous and annoying.. with all the applications and sending out and faxing out resumes.... but just keep at it and you'll get in somewhere.

any other questions, feel free to ask.

good luck with your decision and your future goals for nursing!

    Hi,

My name is Stephanie and I am going to start WCC in san leandro for the lvn program. I did a search and came across your reply saying you did the same program. I just wanted to know if you finished? Also how was the program? was it easy to find employment after? Thank you! Hope all is well,

    Stephanie
