Suesquatch, My name is Doug from near St. Louis, Mo. I am currently in a local college LPN program that is having some real teaching problems. To keep it short, even the teachers agree that this college has some real problems that are driving kids away, making classes and teachers unconnected and making it hard for students to pass without hating their lives for a year. I have seen that you went to Excelsior. Can you give me any advice about using them to go immediately from my LPN to RN? I am concerned about if it can be done in 12 mos. full time, whether I will learn what I need to do well, how states look at the degree, where clinicals might be and how often, etc. I have seen your posts and you seem like a very intelligent person. I consider myself pretty average. I have recieved straight A's up until now, but this has been due to study effort, and not God-gifted abilities. When it comes down to cramming a lot of info at the last minute or day, I struggle with the best of them. Can an average person do this? Thank You in advace, Doug

You made it sound so easy, LOL...funny, when I was 18 I went to Heald Business College to be a computer programmer. Sad to say, I was young and married so I put it off. Then I was sunday school teacher and kindergarten teacher at our church private school. They didn't require certificate either. So now I decided, well I think I want to be a nurse. I like caring for people, I enjoy conversing, etc... so here I am, accept reality bites....It might take longer than I thought. Thanks for your story.
P.S. My sister lives in New York, in manhattan I think. she moves around alot I can't tell where she is now....Have a great day.

Hi Sue. How are you doing? I called the cc today to schedule an appt with that nurse advisor lady. I do hope I am on the right track. I guess I'm just a little impatient. I would love to hear your story about how you did become a nurse. I like to be inspired by other people's stories. Keeps me going you know. Well have a great day, today!

    Blessings,
    Lia

That's not surprising. No way you could have handled all of that at the same time. You will reenter later.........
