I graduated from OUs 2nd degree program as well (I was in the first graduating class)! I loved it because it went so quick (even though it was a nervewracking experience at times). I did RO Beaumont's Critical care internship and have remained on my unit (SICU) for about 3 years (love it). Try to get into a Level 1 trauma center that has a good orientation/internship program. Beaumonts was awesome. Keep an eye out because they post the info/apps online this month for Beau's internship (you can always check with HR or me too for more info if you are interested). I graduated with a 3.56. My advice is to get a couple of years in before you apply and take as many sick patients as you can. Get involved in leadership activities on your unit. Go right to the ICU if thats what you want, don't listen to the people that tell you to go to med/surg first. They are two totally different worlds with different skill sets required. Print off the admission packets for the schools you want and start researching so you can get all your ducks in a row. I knew I wasn't going to apply until my 2nd year, so I made financial and educational goals/moves with 2 years of full time grad school in mind. I could go on forever...lol. Feel free to ask more questions and I will do my best to answer. Good luck!

    HI yeSICU,
First of all congratulations on getting into OU's CRNA program!!! I am currently in the 2nd degree program there. I am also considering CRNA school after getting some experience as an RN. Where did you work after graduation? Did you get right into a SICU? What was your GPA for the program? Any advice? Thanks
    Mrs. Rx
