  9. Does LET have antibacterial properties?

I have looked it up but haven't found much info on it. There have been a few studies, but not many results. I wanted to hear from experienced nurses and find out what you all know about it.
  10. I work in a pediatric office and we use LET (lidocaine, epinephrine and tetracaine) on wounds before we clean the wound and prepare it for stitches. I am curious whether or not the LET gel has any antibacterial properties in it. I question this becau...
  11. Wound Irrigation

What did your co-worker do? I work at a clinic and feel like maybe the patient needs to come back in?? What are your thoughts?
  12. Wound Irrigation

Ok, kinda weird/probably very paranoid question... Tonight while irrigating a wound with hibiclens prior to the patient getting stitches, I breathed out and a small about of drainage came out of my nose, just like sometimes when speaking and a little...
  13. Not using an Alcohol swab before injections

Thank you everyone! I really need to calm down, relax and let it go or I'm in for a long, stressful career!
  14. Question... Today while giving vaccines to a 6 month old, I had to apply a new clean needle to one of the vaccines I was giving due to being contaminated by touching the patients skin before the actual injection was given. I definitely remember clean...

Thank you for the input and advice! I will be using safety needles from here on out!
