  1. Can we talk about breastfeeding and breastmilk please?

My twins were in the NICU for 2.5 weeks when they were born and I was strongly encouraged to bf. I made it very clear that I had to go back to work very soon and so I didn't want to bf but was willing to pump and bottle feed, which I did to the best ...
  2. what do you say to patients...

Can't really help you. I don't think there is anything you can say to help with the embarrassment but just try to not make a big deal of it.
  3. Is most ltc short staffed?

Where I work we have about 60 residents. Two nurses on night shift and 3 CNAs on a good night.
  4. any noc shift workers....

I try to exercise regularly but since I have no one to watch my 4 year old twins while I "sleep" I don't really get much sleep. On the rare occasion I do have someone to watch them, I get up early and exercise before my shift and it does help.
  5. Wedding rings at work

I could see how a marquise cut would make it more difficult. And as far as the size, I started off with just a plain band with a few tiny stones. I've upgrade a few times to get what I have now. :)
  6. New lpn working ltc

I had this issue when I started as well. My advice, hang in there. It will get easier with experience. As far as the CNA respect issue, do not treat them like they are below you bc they aren't. Be willing to help them with CNA work when and if you ca...
  7. Wedding rings at work

I wear mine and i have 1.5 carat center stone. I'm just very careful with it. My wedding ring is very important to me and i never take it off.
  8. Here's a new one: chart assessments before midnight.....

There is no 2nd shift in our facility. We work 12s.
  9. Here's a new one: chart assessments before midnight.....

This is a good idea and I'm not sure if we can do this or not. I will ask tho!
  10. Here's a new one: chart assessments before midnight.....

I don't do any after midnight now. I have to have them done before I do my documentation. Right now I only have about 5 treatments so it's not too bad.
  11. Here's a new one: chart assessments before midnight.....

    No late entries. "/
  12. Here's a new one: chart assessments before midnight.....

Yes, this other documentation I'm talking about is in addition to our Medicare charting!
  13. Here's a new one: chart assessments before midnight.....

Kind of. I get done with report at 1830-1845 and start my Med pass. I have a large 2000 Med pass and a small 2200 Med pass. That leaves me 2 hours at best to complete all of my treatments AND charting.
  14. Here's a new one: chart assessments before midnight.....

This isn't skilled charting. It's similar but not for skilled purposes. My shift is 1800-0630. I never chart in things that haven't happened, and will not. These notes are more like assessments, but it's still ridiculous in my opinion to want this do...
  15. Here's a new one: chart assessments before midnight.....

We have this really weird charting system where day shift is assigned certain residents that we chart on every day and night shift has a different set of residents we chart on every night. It has to do with payment, not Medicare but Medicaid I guess....
