About SpunkRN

I began my career in health care working for LA weight loss in the Philadelphia suburbs. I helped 100's or people lose weight and be healthy. I then moved to southern VA where I coordinated home care services for Bayada Nurses for 2.5 years. I decided that I wanted to do more hands on work so I decided to go back to school for nursing. I now reside in the suburbs of Philadelphia once again and am excited to begin my new career as an RN.

  1. Home care interview for new grad...help!!

I had an interview with a home care company a few weeks back. The only questions I was asked was if I passed boards and then they went down a list of skills and asked if I had any experience with those skills. That was it.

Thank you for your response. I figure it would be a good experience if they have a good training program.

  8. Online job application and its status! Help!

Oh and nurse Hailey, you need to just call and talk to the Recruiter and see what he/she says. I would work any and all angles. It shows you are motivated. It could be that they aren't going to hire you right now because they want someone with exp...
  9. Online job application and its status! Help!

I do not think going around HR is a bad thing. Let's face it, sometimes it's not what you know but who you know. Sure you don't want to go in somewhere acting like you are the best thing since sliced bread but I think networking will get you farther ...

  11. Job now vs. waiting on New Grad program

Wow. I think it's so crazy that you would be outbid the running with a month or so of home care. Maybe you can speak with someone in charge of the residency program and work something out. Wouldn't hurt to ask. I would hate It of you gave up a good j...

  13. ER or Urgent Care After Hours Clinic? New grad.

I would say go to the interview. Until you are at the clinic working or have signed something stating that you indeed have the clinic job, you don't have the job. That's just how I look at it. Then if the ER offers you the position, well then that's ...
  14. No work experience since 2010

I am no expert but the volunteer work will look awesome on the resume. Play that up, I wouldn't go get a job at the GAP or anything unless you need the money.
