I'm a nursing student (starting in Fall 2013) with an almost 3 year old and I want to be a Nurse more than anything. I love helping people, I love learning about the human body, and most of all I love and want to be able to support my daughter.

  1. They don't use that for our documents, I just have to turn them in in person. But it has been VERY crazy getting everything together in such a short time. They told me on July 8th I got in and everything is due on July 31st. The only Vaccines I need ...
  2. Need advice on Nursing School pre reqs!

Okay well I can't personally tell you if Chem is harder than A&P, but for me the most difficult was A&P like I said. And I know how that is, like I previously said starting work as a CNA definitely messed my semester up. And you're welcome, i...
  3. Haha well I don't get much sleep now (I have a very busy 3 year old and I've been working for a while) but I'll definitely sleep in every day I can. Thanks for the advice, I need all I can get! And I've heard an NCLEX book is the best way to go, so I...
  4. Yes, I'm definitely going to be getting my last few hang out sessions and movies dates with my friends. And I will look at those little things you said about conversions and the lab values, those would be good to know anyways! Thanks for the ideas an...
  5. Thank you, so much helpful information! I'll probably just stick with an NCLEX book. I'm going to wait to buy materials until the teacher lets us know so I don't buy anything unnecessary, but if I need any of those I'll look into those brands. That s...
  6. Thanks! I'm mostly going to relax, but I'm also taking A&P2 which is what I mainly want to study ahead for. But relaxing sounds like my number 1 priority now haha.
  7. Micro biology vs A&P difficulty?

Definitely A&P. It's a WAYYYYYY more broad and general subject, so it's hard to remember which process goes to which body part and which function that leads to. Believe me, it's hard. I agree with Micro not being super difficult. I also got a B ...
  8. Need advice on Nursing School pre reqs!

Well it all depends, is Chemistry a pre-req or an extra-point class for the program you applied? For the program I'm in Chem was just another class to get points, but not required at all. And A&P and Micro are DEFINITELY your most difficult class...
  9. Help for a struggling science student

To be honest, I'm terrible with science as well. And as someone starting Nursing School this fall, I've learned that knowing science, especially science of the human body, is essential for becoming a nurse. You don't have to be naturally gifted in th...
  10. Most Challenging Prereq?

Anatomy and Physiology 1 & 2 were the hardest for me. If science, functions of the human body, and understanding EVERY aspect of EVERY process that happens in the body doesn't come natural, you will have to work for your grade. NO teacher will be...
  11. Anatomy, Physiology and Microbiology in one semester?

They are both difficult classes that require a lot of studying, so cramming both into one semester will make them that much harder. It's definitely possible, but if you want my opinion (based on having taken them separately, which was hard enough) I ...
  12. I'm just going to start at the beginning: This June I got the dreaded rejection letter from the program I applied to, but I was put on the alternate list. Considering this school is the only (of a measly two) college with a Nursing Program in my area...
