  3. Oh, California

  4. Has anyone ever 'taped' a gravity feed?

The last unit I worked on had recently gone away from putting feeds on a pump due to increased NEC risk and did NG feeds gravity gavage. Anyone else heard of that?
  5. Safety concern

I agree with the above posters, I would feel so uncomfortable and unsafe working with adults. My units policy is that we can float to peds floors (including PICU) if we have extra nurses but we can only care for patients under 12 months old.

  13. Need advice on a job offer........

I would say take it but ocntinue to be aggressive with finding a hospital job. I was always told in nursing school that taking a SNF job is okay to get experience but to stay there less than a year
  14. Ideas on ways to stay busy during your job search

As a fellow new grad in Portland my biggest piece of advice is to be aggressive! After you apply for jobs, go to the floors and hand your resume to the manger in person. Network any way possible and stay in contact with your preceptors as they are of...
  15. PRN does not have to mean part time hours, it mainly just mean you don't get benefits. Many people who work PRN or as resource nurses get close to fulltime hours, they just do not have the benefits that come with fulltime employment. It is a great wa...
