Hello, You can challenge the test to be certified nursing assistant, best thing for you to do is to contact the board and ask them about it. I did challenge my CNA test and passed while waiting for my ATT last year, and took the nclex and passed.
you should know your content to be able to master the SATA, knowing the "WHY" in every topic is very important...HURST review will help you with the content, it did help me a lot. I passed my test last march and I used Hurst online :-)
Don't give up, I did mine 3 times and passed the 3rd time, it was hard but we need to be strong, don't let failures put you down instead make it as a challenge, I am a foreign graduate too and to be honest it was really depressing but hey, its not the end of the world, u finished your RN school why give up now, just one step ahead and you are there! I took my 1st test December 13, my second January 31st, I was down when I found out that I failed my 2nd attempt, I thought I did all that I can to pass the test but then I failed instead, I cried for couple days but after that I realized that I gotta need to move on and need to study more, and I made a better study plan and I did search for a better review materials. I signed up for HURST review online and found the NCLEXRN3500 here in allnurses, I bought the 2012-2013 strategies of Kaplan and Examcram book. This review materials helped me a lot on my 3rd exam, PDA lacharity helped me too but didnt read it on my 3rd try coz I have had read the book like 3 times already on my 1st and 2nd attempt so I didnt bother myself to read it.
It is ok to be Mad, Angry and be depress, we know that, that is a normal response right, just don't lose hope guys, There's always a reason why you guys didn't pass yet, I am glad that I didn't pass my 1st and 2nd try coz I realize that I didn't know(well I forgot mostly) much until I signed up HURST, rather than I pass my test and be an RN and be a killer nurse and u won't like that wouldn't you..
Now that I am an RN it feels good and I am proud coz I learned a lot through my review and I know I am not going to be a killer nurse :-) Hang in there Nurses, You will get it soon... don't stop studying and always have FAITH. God Bless us all!!!
Yeah, I did the PVT as soon as I got home last Saturday, and found out today through Unofficial result that I passed! I am soo happy, I studied hard for this test, I was crying when I was answering my questions coz It was really hard, but what I remembered I got my last question right, and I made sure that my 1st 20 questions are correct. I graduated in the Philippines 7 years ago, and I know I learned a lot on my review- through Hurst, examcram and nclexrn3500. U guys don't give up, as for me This is my 3rd take. I never gave up, Take it as a challenge :-) As my soldier always told me (He's Army) :-)
I scanned my notes in hurst and some important topics in examcram (like drugs etc)a day before my test, I did the qbank 7, 2 days before my test, I did my test 2 pm last saturday and I scanned my notes on Infection Control and Cram sheet in the morning, I relax for couple hours while on my way to the testing center, I didn't drive but my friends did for me, I don't wanna drive if I am nervous lol.
It works for me, I am a cramming person ever since college. if you think you need to relax a day before just do it :-) Good Luck on your test Nurse :-)
I love hurst, they made my SATA questions in my NCLEX test easy. and they boost my knowledge in Med/Surg, like right now if u ask me about cardio I can discuss it to you starting from the blood flows to different Dse's, I love most of there topics! it really did retained in my brain. I applied it in my critical thinking on my test yesterday. I didn't do all their Qbanks, I think only Qbanks 1,2 and 3. I did the free nclexrn3500 everyday for 45 days :-)
Hello everyone, This is my 1st topic here, But i have been reading posts here for how many months now, I found a lot of good advice and tips here and I am sooo very thankful for that :-)
This is my 3rd try, my first 2 attempts was a self review which I think was a big mistake :-(
My test was soo hard that I couldn't believe I passed, (I did the pearsonvue trick and got the good pop up), I got:
- almost 70 sata
- 20+ meds
- 3 computations
- 4 drag and drop
- pictures with positioning
- 2 ekg
- Infection control (a lot)
- Who u will see first ( a lot)
- Emergency Drills
- Prioritization, Delegation
- Room Assignments
- and Content questions!!
You wouldn't be able to know all this without knowing the content I guess, I didn't give up when I didn't stop at 75, I did used Hurst Online, Kaplan strategies book (2012-2013), exam cram, 35 pages, But I made a lot of notes and I posted it in my study room wall (lol), I used the Med Math book by lippincott too for the computations and A lil bit of Saunders, I read all the exam cram book and kaplan, I did 100+ questions a day, I have a lot of references but I focused on Hurst online, exam cram and nclexrn 3500 from this.. site..
I was so tired and drained after the test, the lady there ask me if I wanna have some crackers coz I really look like Im going to pass out already, While doing the test I almost cried well I cried lol, and some point I was just staring in my board and feel like I dont wanna do the test anymore coz It was freaking hard, and then I realized i gotta need to do my best to pass the test coz honestly I am already ready to give up, I prayed to God a lot and it helps :-)
I am a filipina and I did passed my NCLEX RN test!! If I did You all guys will too, Don't give and always Trust GOD!

Your story inspires me, I will be taking mine on Saturday, March 23, This will be my 3rd attempt, I didn't study much on my 1st try due to my full time work, then I tried again for the second time studied almost everyday and quit my job but still didn't pass :-( I hope I will pass this time, praying and studying a lot everyday :-) I am not gonna give up, whatever result may be I will accept it...:-)
