  1. Would it be best to be a CNA then an RN?

You would be foolish not to be a CNA before you become a nurse. I was one for 5 years. Been a nurse almost 6 years now. Soon to be an NP [emoji3]
  2. Least stressful nursing specialty

For me it's private duty nursing. I've been at work since 7am. I've given 2 bolus feeds of pedialyte and 1 of formula. Did an assessment gave 4 gtube meds and played with my patient. She's now been napping for almost an hour and I got all my charting...
  3. Shift Work vs Monday to Friday - Which would you prefer?

I have been working rotating shifts, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays for almost 10 years. I graduate from NP school next spring (1 year away) and I am literally counting down the days till I can get that M-F 9-5 😍

  5. Im with you. I can't stand the idea of going back to the hospital as a floor nurse. It makes me sick just thinking about it
  6. Do you ever miss the hospital?

I don't miss it at all. Why make $30 an hour to take care of 6 patients when I can make the same amount taking care of 1 (in home care) and STILL be able to go to the bathroom when I want, take a lunch break and check my Facebook lol.
  7. Nurses who never worked in the hospital

I think it all depends on you career goals. I always thought that I wanted to work in a Pedi ICU. My first job out of school was on an adult med/surg/tele unit. I had 6-7 patients ALL with trach and/or vent, some kind of enteral tube (you know the G'...
  8. Pediatric oncology nurses in MA?

If you dont mind me asking where do you work doing VNA work with Pedi Onc patients? That is something I would like to get into myself.
