  3. nitro

There was a pt who had a nitro capsule 2.5 that he had ordered. Would you still give tbis medication if the bp was low? Curious. Thanks everyone in advance.
  4. Burned out and hate nursing

Thanks for the advice, heres some for you. Maybe you should take a vacation from all nurses web site, if it bothers you so bad somebody venting/posting about an experience and observations they have been going through on a daily basis they consider ...
  5. bedside nursing, is it really that bad?

Not a big fan of bed side nursing personally for many reasons. I have found most nursing aren't either. In my opinion it is a hard hard road. You have to really really want to be a nurse, have really very good coping skills, and then maybe you will ...
  6. Burned out and hate nursing

I know the feeling OP. I've been a nurse for a year and a half only now and I truly hate this field. Managers and nursing assistances can make all the difference too. Many managers are out of touch, play favorites, ding you for anything they possibly...
  7. That's good I think that your staying where you are. I too suffer from depression, and a little anxiety, and would love to work in a boring office right now than my busy and sometimes cut throat ltc facility while I focus on beating this. Good luck...
  8. Nursing beyond the bedside-for new grads? Help!

I know what your going through. I can't wait to earn my bachelors and get a couple years more exp (I only barely have 1) and then move on probably to being a case manager. But I have to do those things first. I know some will have their questions, b...
  9. getting out of bed side

Thanks. Case management does seem like a perfect fit. Getting out of bed side is probably realistically a longer term goal right now, within 3 or 4 years would be nice.
  10. Don't be envious, like someone said before, its HIGHLY over rated. Most bed side nursing jobs are fit for dogs. I will be leaving bed side as soon as I can and never ever looking back.
  11. Frustrated

I don't have any advice really but to say your not alone! I could have written this topic myself word for word (including the other holier than thou nurses), except for working different areas. Nursing is a daunting job. Such responsibility can be v...
  12. HI case managers. Advice please!

I am definitely a burnt out bed side nurse. Heres my backround. I have been a working nurse a year and a half. I worked pt a skilled nursing facility for 7 mos that went great, but made what ended up being a very poor career move and went to this ho...
  13. Starting first RN job soon and I am terrified.

Good luck! 4 weeks isn't terribly long, but I've heard of worse. I'll be real, nursing can be, more like just "is", a bumpy ride. In the beginning it can be really really tough and just plain daunting, but it gets better. Congrats on finding a job ...
  14. Mistakes

Its human to make mistakes and WE ALL DO! But it all seems in my short year and half as a nurse to be wheather your manager is understanding of that or not (or wheather they like you personally or not frankly). Some places love to make a mountain out...
  15. getting out of bed side

I have to say, just a year and a half into my career I have really really had it with nursing. I'm sick of management dinging me for everything they possibly can for nothing, I'm sick of lazy nursing assistants who feel its my job to do my job and h...
