  1. UCLA New Grad Program Winter 2016

Someone posted earlier saying that they will do your second interview the same day if you are an out of state applicant. If you are worried, you could call and verify that you won't need to fly out again. I would be really surprised if they aren't ac...

That's what I am hoping for, too. Just know that you aren't the only one still waiting.
  3. UCLA New Grad Program Winter 2016

Awesome! I chose the same areas, and in the same order. My status still hasn't changed, and I am beginning to worry that they are not interested because I've had other (although non-RN) jobs. Anyone else here had a previous career or know of someone...

  6. UCLA New Grad Program Winter 2016

Thanks for sharing this info! Did she happen to say when they send out invitations for interviews (early or late Nov)? Anyone know anything about the interviewing process? Do they give us a set interview date and time, or can we let them know what w...
  7. UCLA New Grad Program Winter 2016

None of my top picks were in the same specialty as my preceptor. We didn't get to pick our preceptors at my school, so assuming that somewhere we were placed for a class was an advantage doesn't really make sense. I decided to let them know the areas...
  8. Other careers in nursing

Have you looked into public health nursing? Most jobs still work directly with patients, but it isn't the typical hospital-based nursing role. A lot of public health is office-based work. Good luck! I hope you find something that makes you happy.
  9. UCLA New Grad Program Winter 2016

Hey everyone! I am VERY excited about this program! My top choices are ED, Neuro/Trauma ICU, and Cardiothoracic ICU. Does anyone have any info about the residency other than what is posted on the website? I'm not sure if there was an info session or ...
  10. CSULB ELM 2013 Hopefuls!

Since I only applied to CSULB, I am taking it! It seems to be shorter than most other programs, which I think of as a huge advantage. The classes are taught in chunks of a few weeks, rather than quarters or semesters. I really like this, since I get ...

I'm in too! Woo! So good to hear that everyone is getting good news :)
  12. CSULB ELM 2013 Hopefuls!

Thanks so much for the info @jaytphan! I'm sure glad they're sticking with the 3 year program. You just made my day! Back to waiting...
  13. CSULB ELM 2013 Hopefuls!

It's good to hear I am not alone with the anticipation and uncertainty! The old brochure said we would be contacted "about two weeks after the deadline" if they wanted to call us in for an interview. Since @siberiantiger says they didn't have intervi...
  14. CSULB ELM 2013 Hopefuls!

Do you have the TEAS study guide from ATI? I got that with 2 online practice tests. I did one before taking the test or studying, then figured out what areas I needed to work on. After reading through some of the stuff, I did one of the written pract...
  15. CSULB ELM 2013 Hopefuls!

Are you sure that is how they are calculating the scores? I saw something on the website a few months ago (not there anymore) that showed them giving certain values to ranges. Either way, it should be pretty close. I got 89.3% on the TEAS, which give...
