Clarification on BSN Requirment for Military Nurse

I am curious...Is the BSN requirement due to the fact that you must have a bachelors to be an officer? I am wondering because I will have an associates RN soon but a BA and MA in unrelated fields, so would that potentially qualify me? Or is it spec...
