I know I haven't been in here in some time, but I just wanted to reiterate my gratitude and hope everyone is doing well in their careers. I graduated in December 2014, passes NCLEX first time up, have 1 year experience, and have been accepted into FN...
  3. Simmons online FNP 2015

I have been accepted fort January part time with the bio bridge course. I'm not 100 percent sure I am accepting, but it seems more than likely that I will accept. I have been in constant contact with the admissions team and attended the webinars (whi...
  4. military service male nurse

You're most welcome. So everything should be good to go for you regarding tattoos. Post-911 is going to be a great asset to you then, only downside is that it is only 36 months. If you are over 30% disabled then you would receive Chapter 31 which pay...
  5. military service male nurse

Look into the MSEP program, I have a few guys and gals that are doing that right now. You get paid while you are going to college while on active duty, but the downside is that it is HIGHLY competitive and is only done once a year. All in all a great...
  6. male nurses with beards

  8. Yea she definitely seems a bit clingy, but I would advise against a relationship. Due to the fact that what if things go bad? Then you are stuck with her for at least 2 years. Moral of the story: It can get weird.

  10. Advantages to being a male nurse

I agree with Ackeem this is a great thread, very informative for me as a male, on what to expect. I still do worry about the job prospects right now sometimes.
  11. wide variety of possibilities in nursing makes me unsure

The good thing, I feel, about this profession is the actual exposure you get to the various wards during Nursing school. So I'm still like you a bit overwhelmed with the different fields in nursing. I feel that we will know when we get into clinicals...
  12. New Male Nursing Student. Any Pointers?

Yea free time now, isn't so free LOL. I am not looking forward to the med surg classroom part, but am looking forward to the clinical portion of it, I was hoping to go to ED, so I thought it would give me a feel for the environment. Thank you much, b...
  13. New Male Nursing Student. Any Pointers?

Wow that's great, I'll definitely look into those books, I have a year and a half before I have to take the nclex, but getting an early start is not a bad idea. I was also curious about the nclex itself, specifically the multiple multiple questions a...
  14. Ugh i hate testssss - help

Fundamental math skills are paramount to any subfield of the medical world. With that said I had issues with math as well, the thing that I had to do was to take pre-100 level math prep courses at a community college, and it helped me tremendously. T...
  15. New Male Nursing Student. Any Pointers?

Thanks for the pointers and thanks for your service! I will try to prepare the best I can for the drama ahead, hopefully none. In my total class there are only 9 men total, so chances are I'll end up like you with a very few guys in a class. It may b...
