  2. Finding a job harder than school and NCLEX put together

I'm thinking that, perhaps, there are certain areas of the country where it is difficult for male RNs and LPNs to seek work because of long-standing discriminatory practice. Here, in the mid-Atlantic and northeast, I have seen countless RNs and LPNs ...

  12. From Psych RN to Psychiatrist

I've been reading all over about the drastic shortage among psychiatrists nation-wide. Are there nurses out there who have made the switch from psych RN to psychiatrist? How did they do it? Did they receive support from their institution? Did the...
  13. Actually thinking of returning to Med/Surge...

Yes, I do know a RN who made the switch from psych to med-surg, then later went to cardiac step-down. Next, she went to prison nursing at an all-female prison, returned to the hospital to do more med-surg, and is now about to enter home health!
  14. Travel Psych RNs

Are there facilities out there who employ travel RNs in their psych units?
  15. Should I retake my GRE?

The GREs are in the process of being revised, with the new version of the test being rolled out during the fall of 2007. I've read that one main difference between the old and new versions is that the new version is NOT an adaptive test. It will ask...
