  9. Heart breaking first shift in NICU

  10. Heart breaking first shift in NICU

Last night was my first actual shift in the NICU. The night was looking to be pretty uneventful...our patients were 34 wk feeder/grower twins. Following our 2 am feedings it appeared we would have a few hours of downtime. My preceptor suggested I att...

  12. Have you ever lost it with a patient?

Yep, worked in a rehab hospital on the LTC vent floor...being confined to a vent and living in a facility for the rest of their lives has left these people fighting for any amount of control they can get. I feel for them but Im sorry when you try to ...
  13. What kind of experience did you have?

I too am shocked that I somehow got a job in the NICU.... Right out of nursing school I started on an adult med-surg floor that had a tiny 8 bed pediatric unit within (so some experience with babies, but not much). I worked there for 6 months before ...
