I know this is a dead thread, but @Inori is dead wrong. 1-page resumes are no longer the norm. If you have experience in anything (i.e. if you were a second-degree student w/ a work history showcasing various skill sets) then of course include them! Just don't go too crazy w/ the page length...
I'm wondering if you need to include all that jazz about your student nurse experiences... My thoughts are that they know where you went to school, and accredited programs will all expose you to the different specialties of nursing. You're fine to include things you've become familiarized with (i.e. EPIC), but there's no reason to say you worked under the supervision of a staff RN doing such and such at these places. You went to school, so this is already understood. Do you have any jobs prior to getting into nursing that would showcase other skills? Customer service? Research?
I'm in school now and everybody has access to a phone in our hospital. Looks like an iphone - very well may be - with an app on it for communication with all providers, nurses, PT/OT/RT, etc. If you have your own smart phone you just get the all yourself
I'm also in for Fall Congrats everyone!
I just got an email for the Accepted Students Day, but still haven't gotten a phone call about being accepted... Think it's a mistake or just a chance out of order procedure?? I just had my phone interview last week on Tuesday..
Hey there, seems like your program had different dates. You applied for the pediatric CNS full time program with a fall 2014 start date. This thread is the BSN/MSN cohort starting summer 2014
Hey there, you sure you applied for this cohort? I think most of us have already had our interviews and heard back... School starts in June!
Wow. What's up with the salty responses. I guess I had the wrong impression of this site or maybe people are just having a bad day.
Good job on the interview! I just wanted to correct you that UCSF is not #1. UPenn is. UCSF happens to be #2. ;-)
Great info cchun, thanks for helping us out! I'm another California kid (Bay Area) and got accepted for the BSN/MSN FNP program. Super excited about it, but still waiting to hear back from a couple of other programs before announcing the news to anybody. Philly seems like it'd be a great place for a city lover, and I'm super drawn to the ability to complete the masters w/in 5 years. So, thus far, it's looking like U Penn is a winner! But we'll see... Congratulations to the rest of you with acceptances and good luck to those on the waiting list!
My interviewer emailed me about rescheduling. Had a conflict last night with clinicals! Tonight it is!
I had a phone interview scheduled for today too, but never received a call. I called the office and sent an email, but of course didn't get a response because the office is closed.
Alas, I sit here waiting for my phone interview which was supposed to be at 7:15 PST. Not sure what to think of it, but I'm here and ready!
I know it's kind of cheating, but my interview is in the evening PST on Monday, so if anybody has any tips after their interview don't feel bad just dropping them off in this here forum :-P
Yea, not quite sure what kind of experience people are presenting as these are supposed to be "career changes," right? Anyways, glad that my letter said I "clearly meet the requirements for consideration" but that there were just not enough spots... I've got my fingers crossed for my U Penn interview on Monday. Good luck to the rest of you!
