Don't worry you'll do fine!! I got in the low 60s on my question trainers (only did 5,6, & 7) and my Q Bank cumulative was a 64%. All I used to study was Kaplan and I passed last week with 75 questions
I know you don't feel ready, I didn't feel ready either and I doubt anyone ever feels ready...but you are. I was really nervous too, I thought I was going to throw up at the test center, but once I sat down I told myself to take it one question at a time and when the questions started they were EXACTLY LIKE KAPLAN so I felt like I was in my room doing some more QBank. I can't stress enough how similar Kaplan questions were to the real NCLEX question, don't worry!!
I've been reading your posts here and I'm really glad to have found this site
I'm doing Kaplan ALL THE WAY. No saunders, no mosby's nothing else. I just did my question trainer #7 and I got 67%. So far, my Q bank cummulative is 65%. Some say I'm ready...I don't know if I'm ready. Should I feel confident taking the exam next week 7/11? ( I know not to be over confident )
The problem with me is my anxiety..I worry too much! What should I do to calm my thoughts down? Thanks guys! you all rock! Congratulations to those who passed!! And those who are yet to take it, good luck and God bless us all!
I agree...I only did Quesion trainers 5, 6, & 7 and go 63%, 62%, & 62% and took the nclex last week and pass with 75 questions. You're ready! Good luck!!
HOLY CRAP EVERYONE! I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!! This was completely unexpected... I, like everyone on here, felt horrible after the test. What a relief!!!
I tell you guys what, I did Kaplan and had Q-bank... and both were very beneficial. Q-bank was verrrrrry similar to the Kaplan questions which made things a little easier while taking the test. I did very poorly on the last two question trainers, getting 52% and 56%. After that, I went to B&N and studied my butt off with a Mosby book, a Davis book, a 3000 bullets book, a nursing mnemonics one, and some other misc. ones I thought would help. I didn't do too hot with the book test questions since they weren't as similar to Kaplan/NCLEX. As you can see, I was definitely nervous taking the NCLEX with such poor scores.
This comes to show everyone that no matter how much you study, you will never feel great for it. And with me especially, I didn't do too hot with the tests and I still passed.
Thanks everyone for your support! I hope to keep in touch with everyone on this board, it's been awesome!
Does anyone know of any good NICU pda software??? I am a new grad and got a PDA as a graduation gift. I plan on getting Neofax, but does anyone know of any other references that may be helpful?
Thank you! :spin:
I would say you are ready! I only did question trainers 5,6, & 7 b/c I didn't have a lot of time and I got a 63%, 62%, & 62% and I passed the nclex with 75 questions (took it last friday). Honestly, the nclex questions are exactly like Kaplan- you'll do fine!
Janina08- what is included in the lab and the kit?? I'm guessing the lab is the class, but what do you mean by kit? everything except for Q Bank? Also, are you taking the NCLEX on Aug 16th or your kaplan class starts then? For now I would focus on the course book and the online videos/lectures. Then after the class do the practice questions.
luv2shopp85- QBank has about 1500 questions, but you can reuse old quesions if you want (you choose: unused, incorrect, unused and incorrect, or all questions). I would suggest reading the course book now and watch the online videos/lectures and then after the class do the Question Trainers and QBank. After the class is over how long do you have until your test date? (P.S. Suzanne's plan didn't work for me either I switched over to kaplan and loved it!)
Good luck Jason, let us know how it goes!
Thank you! Don't worry you'll do fine! I was sooo nervous before the test because I only studied for a few weeks and I only used Kaplan (which had a lot of mixed reviews). I even bought the Saunders book for Suzanne's plan, but only did the first few chapters before starting my Kaplan class and then completely switching to Kaplan. Honestly the nclex questions were exactly like Kaplan, some of them really were the same questions. When you go to Q Bank and there are those 3 sample practice tests- do test 3 it's all prioritizing.
When you get to the test tomorrow just take a deep breath, take one question at a time, and you'll do great!
Good luck and let me know how it went!
Hey everyone! I passed!! Must say that I found Kaplan extremely helpful!!! The nclex questions were exactly like the kaplan questions!
Good luck to everyone! and use Kaplan's Q Bank and Questions Trainers!
I studied for 2-3 weeks using Kaplan only and found that the NCLEX questions were extremely similar to the Kaplan practice questions.
Good luck to everyone taking it soon! It's not as bad as you think it will be!
I studied for about 2 or 3 weeks (that includes a 2 week Kaplan course). I just took the nclex this morning and got 75 questions (will find out sunday if I passed). The questions were EXTREMELY similar to the Kaplan practice questions. I would suggest using one book to review content and then do lots of questions, you will learn from the questions.
So I just got back from taking the nclex. I got 75 questions and was in there for about 45 minutes-1hr. I got a lot of prioritizing and teaching (about meds, postop, etc.) and few (about 4) select all that apply. I honestly have NO IDEA how I did...I knew some answers didn't know others, guessed on a lot...
I am soo nervous about getting my results, does it take the full 48hrs or are they up early sometimes??
My advice- just study as much as you can & do a lot of practice questions. There's no way to fully prepare for the exam. Before you go in take a deep breath and be confident in yourself, it's not as bad as you think it will be.
I studied using Kaplan and I found that the NCLEX questions were VERY similar to the Kaplan practice questions (Q bank and question trainers) and think there were even a few that were pretty much exactly the same as kaplan.
Thank you to everyone for being so supportive over the last few weeks and hopefully I'll have good news in 2 days!
I'm leaving for my exam in 5 mins I hope I have good news in 2 days!
