  2. Bad Nursing?

Scenario 1 : An EMT points out to the RN , that the patient is bleeding from the mouth. The patient is in a hemodialysis center. The RN states" This is just a dialysis center, I'm not trying to save the world". Note: in dialysis, heparin is typicall...
  3. Am I being offered a fair pay?

Hola I live in Corpus Christi and the prices vary, but that is definitely low pay / you should try to negotiate it. In Corpus Christi, the lowest an RN makes would be $20.00 hr but the highest I have seen was $35.00 hr. My friend who graduated, manag...

  5. Is taking 3 science classes insane?

Taking three science classes is complicated. I hope you do no have any obligations because it will be even worst. I took two sciences at once with other courses during my pre nursing days and I was always on the run because exams were back to back an...

It is completely legal . You signed up for this once you became a RN. You cannot refuse and leave as this is considered "abandoning" a patient. Abandoning in my state / Texas puts you up for license revocation. We as nurses took an oath. On second th...

  8. A "dating female students in your class" post

  9. How long is your commute to nursing school?

    Not to far
  10. NursingCAS , GPA & Transcripts

From my experience--> NursingCAS uses the transcripts you send them to verify GPA and actual courses taken, usually takes a week or two for them to calculate GPA. You should err on the side of caution and send an extra transcript to the programs /...
  11. Medication Range Doses-What if Patient Wants Less?

You cannot adjust the dose because that medication is ordered by a physician. We as nurse are not allowed to change doses in that manner. If a patient wants a lower dose, consult physician and act as the patient advocate... Ie maybe the client wanted...
  12. Any males out there tired of the drama?

Yes. It sucks when I get drawn in the cross fire especially in my nursing program, everyone is out to get one another and it's hard to be neutral. I ll try to avoid it but the same thing is going to happen again and again, bad cohort. :I

  14. Is this too much?

It can be accomplished, just use your time wisely. With those courses do not procrastinate, it is a lot of material especially since the semester is cut in half.
  15. nurse fired

The U.S. would not stand for this violation as it clearly invades privacy / HIPPA. The information was not used as a need to basis but because of the fact she knew them. It was right to terminate her as an employee because she on the hospitals side c...
