About ARCTX85

I'm currently a pre clinical student at CCBC Essex. I plan on pursuing a BSN and obtaining my RN certification from the University of Maryland School of Nursing beginning next year. I would like to specialize in trauma and aspects of pre-hospital care with a paramedic certification.

  3. Am I wasting my time going for my ADN?

An established RN friend of mine advised me that I wise in pursuing my BSN because a healthcare system in my current state (Maryland) is having their ADN RNs go back for their BSNs or get let go. Why not go for the projected need, you know? Here's s...
  4. Worried about my nursing supplies!?

First of all, congratu-freaking-lations! haha That is just so exciting. Secondly, those people are going to realize sooner or later what is important and that they can't isolate someone for having nice things. That is so petty it's not even funny. Re...

  10. Handling rude or dishonest patients

I agree with Nurseclm and MahzieLPN- I'm pretty sure that any other nurse/physician/tech that goes in there will pick up on the pt's behavior. Especially when they work with you all the time and know your quality of work. Furthermore, I understand th...

Seems like just trying to assess and chart Spiderman could end up leaving you with getting scheduled for a psych-eval. hahaha
  12. "No nurses of color....."

It seems that any patient request that could potentially hamper the administration of effective patient care should be deemed invalid.
  13. Using a white (dry erase) board to study

Something else that I did for a pharmacology research article, was to take those transparent sheet slip covers, use one for each paper, and then put it all in a binder. It works great to highlight and draw over the top of the paper and then erase lat...
  14. Using a white (dry erase) board to study

I love using white boards, especially for diagraming different aspects of a topic. It's been really useful for my 12-Lead EKG course in diagraming the hexoaxial plane. There are so many different views of the heart with using EKGs, it only makes sens...
